Chit

Terms of use

Last updated: June 2026.

The short version

Chit is a free tool that generates invoice PDFs in your browser. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Not legal or tax advice

Chit helps you format an invoice document — it does not check whether that invoice meets the legal, accounting, or tax requirements of your country, industry, or client's country. You're responsible for making sure the invoices you issue are accurate and compliant with whatever rules apply to your business.

Provided "as is"

The tool is provided without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it accurate and working, but we're not liable for errors in a generated invoice, data lost from your browser's local storage, or any business or financial consequence of using or being unable to use the site.

Your data, your responsibility

As explained in the privacy policy, invoice data is stored only in your browser. We hold no backup. If you clear your browser data without exporting a PDF or a backup file first, that data is gone for good — that's on you, not us.

Acceptable use

Don't use Chit to create fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal documents, and don't try to abuse, scrape, or disrupt the site.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
